To give you a flavour of our directors' experience we have set out below some example transactions.

Construction

  • Advising a charitable trust on its first use of strategic partnered procurement documentation on a £2 million housing development, including the preparation of the framework call down building contract, appointment documents, warranties and security documentation. Following insolvency of the original contractor, preparing the necessary documentation for engagement of the completion contractor and advising the charitable trust in the recovery of monies arising from the insolvency.

 

  • Advising a design and build contractor in connection with all construction aspects of the £15 million redevelopment and refurbishment of three residential tower blocks, that had previously stood unoccupied and in disrepair for almost two decades. Negotiating and concluding all of the construction and development contracts. Being the first project in the UK to be commenced with the benefit of a Build to Rent loan, required detailed funding provisions as well as substantial energy efficiency measures to maximise funding for reducing carbon emissions and energy saving benefits.

 

  • Advising a housing association in their role of development partner in respect of a housing PFI for a £8 million multi-use regeneration development for new build housing and associated community facilities, including the drafting and negotiation of bespoke amendments to the design and build contract and preparation of bespoke ancillary documentation for warranties, bonds and guarantees.

 

  • Advising a housing association in the procurement of a £75 million new build and regeneration developer framework for use with its private sector development partners on its programme of major housing and community regeneration schemes throughout the north of England. This included the drafting and negotiation of a bespoke framework agreement facilitating early contractor involvement, a bespoke development agreement and professional team appointments each with bespoke ancillary documentation.

 

  • Assisting a housing association in relation to an agreement for lease and development agreement for a multi-phase £30 million redevelopment of three Grade II listed housing blocks, including advising on potential EU procurement risks, the drafting and negotiation of funding arrangements, professional appointments and ancillary documentation.
