To give you a flavour of our directors' experience we have set out below some example transactions.

Development

  • Leading on the provision of advice and support to a Registered Provider on an ongoing and complex regeneration project of a former Council estate in a central London borough. The parties to the project are the RP, the Council and a private developer. The project has been phased over five sections and will deliver approximately 350 units covering affordable rent, shared ownership and private sale units. The project has covered diverse areas and demanded the ability to project manage and deliver tight deadlines in order to achieve client objectives. Examples of some more recent aspects of the project have been very technical work in relation to communal heat and power supplies and the variation of the original suite of multi-party documentation to reflect fundamental changes to the financial arrangements. Other areas have included procuring DCLG consent to disposals; the grant of phase leases, sub leases and subsequent land transfers; confirmatory planning documentation; advice on CIL; enfranchisement; and negotiation of build documentation.
  •

  • Drafting and negotiating golden brick documentation for an ex stock transfer Registered Provider in Cambridgeshire as part of the construction documentation for a site acquisition. The agreement of collateral warranties and parent company guarantees. Introduction of a VATco structure with appropriate amendments to draft documentation.
  •

  • Acting on behalf of an ALMO in Derbyshire in an at the time ground breaking newbuild project across four sites in a joint venture with the Council and a private developer. Structuring the transaction to achieve the required outcome whilst incorporating checks and balances to protect the client.
